On 8 June 2026, the Energy Nexus Cluster brought together experts and innovators for the seminar “Synergies for a resilient and flexible energy system”, held in Brussels in conjunction with the European Sustainable Energy Week 2026.

The Energy Nexus Cluster is a collaborative platform connecting EU-funded projects working across the energy sector. Led by the GLocalFlex project, the Cluster creates a space for research organisations, technology providers and industry actors to exchange knowledge, explore common challenges and opportunities, and turn individual project results into a stronger collective impact.

The seminar showcased this collaborative spirit, with GLocalFlexINDEPENDENTENFLATE, MASTERPIECESTREAMREEFLEX, STUNNED,
BeFlexible and RESONANCE presenting key research findings and insights from their work.

Among the highlights was the presentation by Sohvi Virkkula, Research Scientist at VTT, representing the RESONANCE and INDEPENDENT projects. She explained how Large Language Models (LLMs) can help automate the integration of energy systems and resources, supporting more efficient and flexible energy management in buildings.

Highlights from the seminar, with a keynote speech by Marion Labatut, European Affairs Director at EDF (Electricité de France).
